Platform Engineering Manager (all genders)

As our Platform Engineering Manager (all genders), you lead and build the Platform team at reev from April 2024 on, by fostering a strong and positive engineering culture and by inspiring, empowering and gaining trust of your team. This means in detail:

  • You work with the product and engineering team, to optimize delivery, development and monitoring processes.
  • You actively work on improving developer experience by fostering a positive engineering culture, helping in defining architecture and technical standards to be used cross-team, and building a knowledge-sharing culture.
  • You play a key role in mentoring and personal development of the engineering team.
  • You manage the engineering resource planning for the Platform team.
  • You work together with our Talent Acquisition Managers to define job ads for (new) positions and identify the right channels to search for talent.
  • You facilitate collaboration between solutions by identifying common technical topics.
  • You always look to improve engineering quality and efficiency.
What you bring along
  • Your professional background: You have at least five years of professional experience in working with cloud infrastructure (e.g. AWS) as well as proven cloud architecture contributions. 
  • Your leadership experience: You have at least three years of professional experience as an Engineering Manager or leadership role.
  • Your expertise: You are experienced in managing teams using agile processes and delivering complex projects. You have strong knowledge of network and security practices (e.g., least privileged principles and zero trust). You are very experienced with Kubernetes and Docker. You have a high expertise with CI/CD (e.g., Github actions or equivalent) and with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools (e.g., Terraform). You are experienced in setting up monitoring and observability solutions (e.g. Grafana)
  • Your approach: You possess a strong strategic thinking and a "getting things done" mindset. You like to take ownership and it comes naturally to you to work independently and proactively. You are interested in personally investing yourself in company wide topics as well as in helping and supporting others. You have strong people leading and communication skills. You're thinking in a structured, independent and long-term way. You have great organisational and prioritisation skills.
  • Your language skills: We mostly communicate in English internally and externally.

  • Your chance to stand out: You have hands-on experience with AWS, Kubernetes, GitHub Actions, Terraform, and have built libraries and services using spring boot with Java/Kotlin as well as used related build tools like Gradle or Maven. You build highly effective and performant teams.
